My name is Zhou Yi, the same name as I Ching - The Book of Changes.
I-Ching, brimming with the philosophical richness of Yin and Yang and profound examinations of life's contradictions and resemblances, forms the bedrock of my artistic ethos. Much like the abstract symbols the pre-modern Chinese people once used to document their experiences, my art becomes a mirror of my sensory experience, transformed into tangible expressions, colored by multiple interpretations.
Through my creative journey, I strive to capture and translate the ever-changing dance of life. My creations often draw inspiration from animals, plants and beings around me, infused with an inherent dynamism that reflects the ceaseless rhythm of change. Each work is a meticulously orchestrated ensemble, with every component chosen for its potential to harmonize with the others. However, true to this world inspires me, my art embraces paradox. It teases the boundaries of contradiction, toys with the balance of elements, and playfully subverts expectations.
